A structured and expressive Amarone from one of Valpolicella’s most important estates, the 2006 Allegrini Amarone della Valpolicella Classico comes from a well-regarded vintage that delivered balance, ripeness, and strong aging potential. The season provided favorable conditions for slow, even maturation, resulting in wines with depth and definition rather than excessive heat or overripe character. Produced via the traditional appassimento method and aged in oak, this Amarone shows a composed and layered profile.

      Producer Information

Allegrini is an Italian family business based in the Valpolicella Classico zone of the Veneto. It is widely regarded as one of the leading producers not only in the region but in Italy as a whole, and is particularly known for its Amarone della Valpolicella Classico. The family has been in the region since the 16th Century, and has been involved in winegrowing for much of that time. However, the business as it is known today was founded in the mid-20th Century by Giovanni Allegrini, who began to build the estate's reputation for fine wines in the 1960s and 70s. Today, all of Allegrini's wines are made from estate-grown fruit from 90 hectares (222 acres) of vineyard in the communes of Sant'Ambrogio and Fumane, where the southeast-facing slopes and chalk soils are well-suited to winegrowing.
