Vintage: 2010

Size: 750ml

ABV: 15%

Varietal: Valpolicella Blend

    Country/Region: Italy, Veneto

A refined and well-structured Amarone from one of Valpolicella’s leading estates, the 2010 Allegrini Amarone della Valpolicella Classico comes from a balanced and highly regarded vintage that delivered both ripeness and freshness. The season allowed for slow, even maturation of the dried grapes used in appassimento, resulting in wines with better aromatic precision and structural definition than more opulent years. Aged in oak, this Amarone shows a composed interplay between dried fruit richness and classical structure.

      Producer Information

Allegrini is an Italian family business based in the Valpolicella Classico zone of the Veneto. It is widely regarded as one of the leading producers not only in the region but in Italy as a whole, and is particularly known for its Amarone della Valpolicella Classico. The family has been in the region since the 16th Century, and has been involved in winegrowing for much of that time. However, the business as it is known today was founded in the mid-20th Century by Giovanni Allegrini, who began to build the estate's reputation for fine wines in the 1960s and 70s. Today, all of Allegrini's wines are made from estate-grown fruit from 90 hectares (222 acres) of vineyard in the communes of Sant'Ambrogio and Fumane, where the southeast-facing slopes and chalk soils are well-suited to winegrowing.
