The 2020 HALL Sacrashe Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is a highly concentrated, "slumbering giant" from the Rutherford AVA. Sourced from a 12-barrel selection, this wine features intense notes of crème de cassis, sweet pipe tobacco, graphite, mocha, and dark fruit, delivering a massive, tannic, and long-lived, complex structure.

      Producer Information

HALL Wines is a leading Napa Valley wine producer, with wineries in Rutherford and St Helena. It specializes in wines made from Cabernet Sauvignon.
The Rutherford winery is located in the renowned Sacrashe Vineyard, on the eastern ridge of the Vaca Mountain Range. It is dedicated to single-vineyard and limited-production wines. An early proponent of sustainable agriculture, the facility was California's first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold Certified winery in 2009. It received further LEED certification for its new state-of-the-art gravity flow winemaking facility and hospitality building in 2013. HALL uses both natural and select-strain yeasts for fermentation. Some of the wines go through malolactic fermentation in small French oak barrels before being racked into larger French oak barrels for aging. The wines are also aged in bottle for a time before release.
The extensive range feature numerous single vineyard and special selection Cabernet Sauvignon releases. Some are 100-percent Cabernet Sauvignon, while others feature supporting components of other Bordeaux varieties. A number are winery exclusives available only from the tasting room or the HALL Wines website. The portfolio is underpinned by a Napa Valley bottling, which can feature a little Merlot and Petit Verdot. HALL Napa Valley Merlot is a popular counterpart release, aged, like the Cabernet, in 50 percent new French oak. A Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc vinified in stainless steel is the sole regular-release white wine (a late harvest Sauvignon Blanc has also been made). All three of these wines are sourced from partner vineyards.
