Whitehall Lane Winery is located off Highway 29 in the Rutherford appellation of Napa Valley, California. The estate has over 140 acres (56 hectares) of vines across Napa Valley and Sonoma, spread out between eight different vineyards. Rich wines made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are Whitehall Lane's specialty although the estate has produced a range of labels. The winery was established in 1979 by the Finklestein family, who sold it to the current owners – the Leonardini family – in 1993. The Leonardinis modernized and expanded the property to include the Estate, Millennium MM and Bommarito vineyards in Rutherford and the Leonardini and Fawn Park vineyards in Saint Helena. In addition, Whitehall Lane owns Oak Glen vineyard in Oak Knoll and more recently, the Rassi vineyard in Sonoma. It also sources from the Sonoma Stage site, which grows both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The estate produces a range of wines, predominately focusing on Bordeaux varieties. The top-tier bottlings are the Leonardini Vineyard and Millennium MM Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons – both single-vineyard selections made with the best fruit from each site, and only available to wine club members. Whitehall Lane also produces a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, and a more exclusive estate vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. The Merlot is made in a full-bodied style, aiming to appeal to those who prefer the structure and intensity of Cabernet Sauvignon. Whitehall Lane also produces wines from several other grape varieties, including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc.
