Producer Information
Domaine Rostaing, often called RenĂŠ Rostaing after its founder, is a leading wine estate in the CĂ´te-RĂ´tie region of the Northern RhĂ´ne, and particularly known for its Syrah-based wines. The first Rostaing wine was produced in 1971 when the estate covered a mere 1.5 hectares (3.7 acres) split between the CĂ´te Blonde and La Landonne subregions of the CĂ´te RĂ´tie. This slowly grew as Rostaing purchased additional plots and the took over his uncle's and his father-in-law's vineyards. Today the domaine has just over seven hectares (18 acres) of vineyards in the wider CĂ´te RĂ´tie â a sizeable holding by the region's standards â plus one hectare (2.5 acres) in the white wine (Viognier-based) appellation of Condrieu, which produces the La Bonnette cuvĂŠe.
