This expression is drawn from a single cask, offering a direct connection to its maturation process. The nose reveals notes of dried orchard fruit and honey, while the palate showcases oak and spice, culminating in a refined finish. Balvenie Distillery, established in 1892, remains one of the few distilleries in Scotland to grow its own barley, malting, and traditional craftsmanship.

Distillery Information

One of Speyside's most famous single malts, located in Dufftown and owned by William Grant and Sons. The distillery was founded in the late 1800s by William Grant, who worked at the Mortlach distillery nearby. Master Distiller David Stewart is credited with making Balvenie the powerhouse we know today. David worked at Balvenie for many decades and introduced many innovations that are now widespread across the industry including 'cask finishes' where whiskies are aged for a period in ex-Bourbon wood before being finished for a relative short period in a more active barrel.
