Producer Information

Hidalgo La Gitana Winery was launched in 1792 by Don José Pantaleón Hidalgo, and since then, the wine growing business has transferred from father to son. Don José bought historic Don Roque Vejarano, a small warehouse unit, and renovated it into a well-operated winery. In the 19th century, the company became renowned and internationally awarded as the most important grape and wine producer in the Manzanilla region. Today, the Hidalgo family’s eighth-generation uses estate-owned grapes to craft award-winning white and fortified wines.
