Also known as Braes of Glenlivet, Braeval is one of a number of high-tech distilleries built in Scotland during the 1970s and is now owned by Pernod Ricard. The distillery is located in a lonely glen on the edge of the Cairngorms and is reputed to be the highest in Scotland. For many years it was rarely seen in a bottle and then from independents only. More recently official bottlings have appeared under the Secret Speyside banner.
