Bunnahabhain 15 Year Old 2009 Single Cask Private Label Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 700ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Grilled peach and creamy apricot, vanilla fudge, shortbread, and burnt biscuits. Browned butter, more stone fruits, and sweet black tea.

Palate: Silky butterscotch opens the way, with ripe fruit, condensed milk, creamy caramel, and earthy tea. Treacle sponge, and gentle woody spices gather beneath.

Finish: Flambéed fruit, vanilla ice cream, a hint of clove, roasted coffee. Jelly sweets, burnt cream, and warming nutmeg linger.

Distillery Information

"Bunnahabhain, meaning "mouth of the river," started in 1881 on remote Islay by William Robertson, building a village for workers; it grew, expanded its stills in the 1960s, shifted from peated to unpeated (mostly) for blending, then re-bottled its own malts, becoming known for its complex, sherry-matured, often unpeated style, surviving ownership changes (Edrington, Burn Stewart, Distell), and recently modernized with a new visitor center to showcase its unique, traditional Islay spirit."
